Cotignac Provence France

The charming Provençal village of Cotignac is situated half way between St Tropez and the Gorges du Verdon ands is surrounded by woods, vineyards and olive trees.

Despite a steady flow of visitors, Cotignac is the perfect example of an authentic village in Provence. Life centres around the Cours Gambetta, under the ancient trees where restaurants and cafes serve local wines and french delicacies until late into the night. The Tuesday morning market is an essential part of village life and something to be experienced even if you’re just passing through.

Tennis (there are two courts) and the popular french game Boules (at the local boulodrome) are available. Other local sporting activities include golf, canoeing, horse riding and rock climbing. Each summer, a selection of films and plays is shown in the outdoor theatre.

Situated in the middle of the centre Var region, Cotignac is within an hour drive of several attractions such as the ‘Gorges du Verdon’, the ‘Lac de Ste Croix’, The Ste Victoire mountain and Aix en Provence but close to several of the stunning beaches of the Côte d’Azur.
